About Walker Heffron
Wofford College biology major Walker Heffron is a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and Wofford Division I Men’s Tennis Team. An accomplished athlete, Mr. Heffron has played tennis since the age of three. He has been successful in competition for both the United States Tennis Association and his high school. He led the Bishop England High School (BE) team to four consecutive regional championships and was an All-Low Country Team selection all four years earning Lowcountry Player of the Year honors in 2011. Walker Heffron also played basketball at BE, where, in his senior year, he served as the team captain of the basketball and tennis teams. Moreover, he was named a National High School Tennis All-American by the National High School Tennis All-American Foundation, the only student athlete in BE and Wofford College history to be selected for the honor.
Once in college, Walker Heffron earned three consecutive awards as part of the Wofford College Men’s Tennis Team. Nominated for the Wofford Rookie of the Year in 2012, awarded The Most Pivotal Moment Bosscar in 2013 and he is the first student athlete in Wofford's history selected as the recipient of The Southern Conference Don Bunch/Buddy Hartsell Sportsmanship Award in 2014. Mr. Heffron’s interest in sports has also driven much of his professional experience, which includes service as a camp instructor and team coach for the BE Basketball Camp during the summers of 2009-11 and an assistant teaching professional at the Roy Barth Tennis Center at Kiawah Island Resort in 2013.
